FIP Study
We understand the FIP is a terrifying disease and a diagnosis can be frightening and daunting. We will do our best here to help you navigate through this challenging time with our observational study and this life changing treatment!
South Tower Animal Hospital is home to an observational, open-ended study on FIP treatment using an oral compound of GS-441524. We began our study in 2022; over 3 years and with over 620 cats in the study, we are one of the biggest FIP Studies in Canada. We have extensive experience treating varying combinations of types of FIP (Wet, Dry, Ocular, Neurological or any combination of those), and a success rate of over 90%. We use a combination of GS-441524 in a capsule form which is small and easy to administer. This form has the same efficacy as the injections but is far less invasive and painless for your cat. We pair this drug with another antiviral, which helps reduce the liklihood of your cat relapsing. We are very excited to bring this life-saving and cost effective treatment to you! Although Dr. Jeff Aramini is no longer at South Tower, Dr. Oren continues to run the study.
For more information on the study and enrolment, reach out to to South Tower Animal Hospital by phone (519-787-8550) or e-mail ([email protected]) with a brief history of your cat's symptoms, along with your consent to have a call with our Veterinarian to discuss treatment. If you have questions or would like to send records for a potential FIP case (most recent bloodwork and history), please e-mail [email protected]
